DAZN Fight Night Titles

DAZN wanted a song, not production music. Something with a real artist behind it that fans would go looking for on Spotify once the fight was over. Because it had to stand up as a song, the words carried as much as the music, and they stay close to the fighter: the wait beforehand, the walk to the ring, the seconds before the first bell.

The core is orchestral strings pushed hard against 808 bass and drums, with a live vocal from Given Nkanyane over the top. The strings give it the scale and menace of a fight build. The 808s are a deliberate choice: they keep the track in the same world as the music the audience already listens to, so it plays as current rather than as broadcast music. Given's vocal is what makes it something you'd want to listen to for its own sake. From there we cut broadcast loops and a set of stings for in and out of the ad breaks, so the sound runs across the whole night, not just the opening.
