Molecular Sound composed a bespoke horror score and sound design for the Sky Cinema Halloween Collection promo, in collaboration with Sky Creative. We built it around promo-triggered sound cues, doorbells, creaks, knocks and howling wind, woven into the music so the whole thing tightens toward a proper scare.
The Brief
For its Halloween Collection, Sky Cinema wanted a promo that felt like the films it was selling. The brief was simple: build atmosphere from the very first note, and end on a scare you remember.
The Sound
We made the sound design part of the score rather than a layer over the top. The sounds of the season, doorbells, creaks, knocks and howling wind, are built into the music itself, so a knock lands on the beat and the wind moves with the harmony. From there it's all tension. The track keeps tightening as it goes, up to a hair-raising climax timed for the moment the promo needs it most.
