We wrote the sonic logo and the brand song, then built the sound out into a suite of six brand tracks, so every division, film and event has something of its own to play.\u003C/p>","The Brief","\u003Cp>Hexagon measures the world to the micron, and its technology sits inside cars, aircraft, farms, factories and construction sites. The brand personality has a name, the Optimistic Realist, and the sound had to hold both halves of it: warmth next to precision, confidence next to approachability. Until this point Hexagon had no sound of its own. Films were scored from music libraries, which meant nothing the brand made actually sounded like the brand. The wider sector does not help much either. Measurement and design technology companies mostly reach for the same pacey electronic library beds, and a real sonic logo is rare, so there was an open space to own.\u003C/p>","The Sound","\u003Cp>We took the brand story, from microns to Mars, and let the music travel the same distance. The track opens sparse and close, then builds in instrumentation and pace to a euphoric finish. Hexagon started in Sweden, so the vocal is built around that, a Scandinavian female lead in the register of Tove Styrke or Robyn, sitting on crisp contemporary electronic pop production. The sonic logo is lifted out of the track rather than bolted onto it, which is why the two recognise each other. Electronic Hype pushes the pace for product and launch films, Industry Uplifted leans into the factory floor, Orchestral Optimism scales up for the big brand moments, and Acoustic Warmth and Warm Piano pull right back for the human ones.
